![[odCODEX-logo.png]] The Codex is the key resource to implement object:desire in your company. It expands the concepts introduced in the [pleasedontpush.com](https://www.pleasedontpush.com/) videos and hosts all the additional materials needed for a successful implementation: - Summary of the key points of each video - Detailed definition of each concept introduced in the videos - Step-by-Step guides of the key processes to implement object:desire - Additional case studies to see variations of the processes in play - Comparison of object:desire concepts with traditional concepts to learn by contrast - Highly relevant additional material to watch (usually from other authors) ## How is the Codex organized object:desire has four branches, each with its own core logic and its own set of tools. The Codex mirror that structure with 4 parts that contain the main videos relevant to each part and expand the content in them, so you can learn each branch in depth and see how they connect with each other. #### **Part 0. Start Here** It includes this page, which is a general overview of the codex [[What is object꞉desire]] which is a general overview of the whole framework And the [[changelog]] where you can see the new content added to the codex (more on that below) #### **Part 1. object:desire** Introduction of the key growth dynamics (cumulative advantage, meaning flywheel) and the key concepts (meaning, desire,…) that compose object:desire and compares them with the conventional way of “doing growth” that is leading us to work so hard with so little results. **- Main video 1:** [object:desire](https://www.pleasedontpush.com/p/objectdesire) #### **Part 2. Symbolic Engineering** Focused on fixing (quilting) the right meaning to your product. To achieve that, we need to learn about Meaning and Desire. There is a main video that introduces each topic: **- Main video 2:** [Meaning](https://www.pleasedontpush.com/p/od2-meaning-v09) **- Main video 3:** Desire (coming soon) #### **Part 3. DeMark - Spread Engineering** Focused on getting 3rd parties (other people, algorithms) to spread and reinforce our initial meaning. **- Main video 4:** Spread (coming soon) #### **Part 4. Adoption Engineering** Focused on spotting and removing functional and symbolic blockers that could break the momentum achieved via Meaning and Spread, to ensure that the user becomes a long-term one. **- Main video 5:** Blockers (coming soon) ## How to use the Codex The very first step is to watch the main video of any given part. The video connects all the concepts in a way that the Codex can’t, so it’s the perfect way to achieve a first understanding of that part. Each part in the Codex has a summary of the key points of the videos so you can quickly refresh the big picture. Then there are multiple ways in which you can use the Codex: - You can use the Concepts section on each part to get more clarity on any concept introduced in the videos. - There is also a search box below the site logo on the left that you can use to see every page where a concept is mentioned to explore adjacent ideas. - The concepts for each part are organized mirroring the video. They follow a similar order, and the concepts are grouped based on the key slides that show them, so you can easily explore all the related concepts. - You can get more clarity and inspiration about the key dynamics with the Case Studies. - There I summarized the cases used in the videos - And added additional cases that illustrate interesting variations of the key dynamics - And to achieve maximum clarity on each concept, I included comparisons of object:desire processes and concepts versus the conventional ones so you can understand how they are different and why that difference matters. - Finally, you will want to implement the framework. To do that, you have detailed step-by-step guides on how to implement and asses that process. ## This is a living document After each video is published, I will populate that part of the Codex. Also, based on feedback I will make clarifications, add additional specific case studies or relevant additional material to watch on the parts already published. So, if you have any of that feedback, just reply to any of the substack emails (it’s redirected to me) and I will work on that. And to keep track of what changed since the last time you were here, you can visit the [[changelog]].
